From your question, I assume you’re looking for a small unit, so you might want to look into a bobcat trackhoe or even a skid-steer loader. Based on my experience though, no matter what kind you buy, unless you use it every single day of the year, it's usually better to rent than to buy. If you still plan to buy, you can generally get a good deal at an eBay auction. This site here will take you there, and you can look around and see what they have to offer. I bought one this way and was very satisfied.

I'm looking for a used backhoe/loader some where around 10 years old that's not too expensive. I owned Kubota before and they were a piece of junk. I guess I should stick to the good names like John Deere, Case & Catepillar. Are there any good places to look on the internet?

I need at least 65hp and use a backhoe everyday. I run fence posts, dig drainage tiles, move grain and such, so a compact just won't do the job. Any ideas?

I haven't driven one personally, but have read that it is between 22-25 mph. There are some later models available with the ’smoothride’ system which eliminates bounce, and works very well. Also in the last couple of years, J.C.B introduced an option of ‘torque lock’ which locks the torque converter and increases speed for road use to somewhere near 35 mph I believe.
Thanks for your comment.

Thanks. BTW, a great looking site.
